Péter Copek began his career as a dancer in his native country, Hungary before moving to the Netherlands to study at Artez Dance Academy Arnhem and at Codarts University of Arts in Rotterdam, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree.

He danced in numerous engagements at German theaters and freelance projects such as Volkstheater Rostock, Deutsche Tanzkompanie and Ballet Hagen, Donlon Dance Collective. He danced choreographies by Jiří Kylián, Marco Goecke, Marguerite Donlon, Amos Ben Tal, and many others.

Besides his dancing career, he is an emerging choreographer, video maker and he is an MA dance pedagogy student at Folkwang University in Essen. He is one of the founding members and co-leaders of the newly formed contemporary dance company, the WestDeutsches Tanztheater in NRW Germany.
