KingBass hails from Pretoria, South Africa. A keen music lover and encouraged by his mother from an early age, Kingbass grew up listening to Jazz, Funk, Disco, Soul and Afrobeat. This ritual anchored his love for music.

KingBass draws his inspiration from the likes of Black Coffee, Toy Humphries, Culoe De Song, Atjazz, Louie Vega, Osunlade, Fred Everything and Jill Scott and erykah badu. When it comes to putting together his set for the night, his sound is soulful funk with a Afro spirituality about it.

Currently based in the Middle East, Kingbass has worked with many DJ’s and producers from all over the world. This has encouraged him to develop his sound helping him to reach wider audiences. It’s his deep Afro, Soulful House sound that has enabled him to open for international acts such as Ralf Gum, Monique Bingham, Steve Paradis, Cory Centric, Da Capo and Mobi Dixon.

For Kingbass, it's always been about the music and people’s reaction to it, using music to help people connect to each other. Currently one of the weekly Residents DJ at The Restaurant at the Address Boulevard, and Flamingo Room by Tasha’s with other venues under his belt like 101 Restaurant and Lounge, Roberto’s Dubai/Abu Dhabi, Tamba and Fuego. This season promise to be exciting.
