Amil Sax was born in Santiago de Cuba, the cradle of iconic genres of Caribbean music such as son and bolero. His real name is Amilcar Suarez. He has dabbled in music since he was ten years old, when he began studying saxophone, piano and percussion. He graduated as an instrumentalist, saxophone teacher and director of musical ensembles at the Esteban Salas Conservatory. He is currently a conductor, arranger, composer, producer, singer and saxophonist.

He has recorded three albums: "Piña Colá" (2018), "El Hijo de Chango" (2014, Picap Records, Barcelona), "A Cuba" (2007), "No Todos Somos Iguales" (2003, Idyllium Records, Italy) . His songs fuse rap, reggaeton and house with Cuban music.
