“MELANCHOLY” - Graffti / Mural Artist

Born and raised in the busy streets of Manila, he was introduced to art at a young age and started doodling and menacing their house walls with crayons and paints. Melancholy started doing graffitiin 2006 and since then has made a great contribution in the growing graffiti scene in Manila. A graduate of Fine Arts major in advertising. Now based in Dubai working as a designer for one of Middle East largest fashion retail brand.

Melancholy’s work is infuenced mainly by Lowbrow art, pop culture, poetry, music, life and tragedy, a chaotic mix of random things. Have been involved in recent high prole community projects locally and internationally,

Such as Street Fest in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Street Nights in JBR, SIKKA Art Fair, Sole DXB and Rehlatna, the initiative from Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as part of the 2014 National Day celebrations, achieving Dubai’s Guinness World Record of Longest Graffti Scroll. He recently worked and collaborated with some local and international brands and was commissioned by MERAS, EMAAR, JBR, Dubai Holdings, Yas Marina Circuit, Alserkal Ave., The Ritz-Carlton, Virgin Yas Marina, RTA,DEWA, IBN Battuta Mall, Al Ghurair Centre, Deerelds Mall, Al Ain Mall, Adidas, Nike, Reebok, K-Swiss, Mountain Dew, RedBull, Tiger Beer, Nokia, Playstation, Samsung, Namshi, Tiffany & Co. to name a few.
